Zenit 12xp Light Meter. I own a Zenit 12xp film camera and i cannot make the light meter work. It fundamentally has 2 LED's that indicate if the frame is overexposed or underexposed. The Zenit 12XP is an SLR camera made in Russia in the 90s. As all Zenits, like the 122, they are simple machines with a reduced set of features but are remarkably mechanically sturdy. However, those cameras are a bit more complicated to operate than the most popular SLR cameras of this era, such as Nikon and Canon.
The 12XP is newer, and more sophisticated. Both are uncomplicated cameras. You advance the film lever to wind on the film and cock the shutter and mirror. Once it's cocked, you cannot wind on further. Thump the shutter release, and you get an exposure which may be similar to the shutter speed set on the dial.
